Celebrating Sloths

'What's uuuup...' exclaims our sloth 'Rainbow White', named by my daughter. Happy International Sloth Day. Perhaps Rainbow White's taking time out from filming Star Wars, who knows.

These sweet, slow-moving tree-dwellers are also remarkably good at swimming and can be found in the rainforests of South and Central America, so long as deforestation doesn't wipe them out.

There are two species of sloths: two-toed and three-toed (https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/sloth). Unfortunately, Pygmy three-toed sloths are critically endangered, and maned sloths are vulnerable (https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/sloth). But, luckily in the tropical rainforest here, they'll always be surrounded by colourful trees and vegetation thanks to my little flower for colouring it in.
